Fryeburg Fair makes Games Magazine's 'Top Ten'

Games Magazine has included Fryeburg Fair in its 30th anniversary edition feature “Best of the Best: Annual Fairs and Festivals That Are Worth a Special Trip,” a collection of the 10 best fairs in the United States.
The national magazine that bills itself as the “magazine for creative minds at play,” listed the annual Maine Blue Ribbon Classic along with such giants as the Iowa State Fair, the Los Angeles County Fair and the State Fair of Texas.
Writer Tricia Vita, the daughter of concessionaire parents that traveled the New England fair and festival circuit, got the chance to visit several of the big fairs as a reporter for Amusement Business, a trade magazine. As she said in her article for the September issue of Games, “All 10 are worth a trip from anywhere in the universe.”
Fryeburg Fair, which runs from Sept. 28-Oct. 5 in 2008, features a Woodsmen’s Day that attracts competitors from around the globe, a harness racing program that
